Jealous thug tried to kill his former lover
A JEALOUS brute who tried to kill his former lover was yesterday jailed for eight years.
Vicious Shaun Delaney, 24, of Paisley, tried to strangle Susan McNeill after dragging her by the feet down a lane at Washington Road, Paisley.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that during the murder bid, which took place close to the giant B&Q store, Delaney put Ms McNeills jacket round her neck and pulled it tight.
The victim told prosecutor Derick Nelson that she blacked out and, when she regained consciousness, she heard Delaney crying and saying: I think Ive killed you.
Delaney then told her: Im sorry.
